About Dr CHOW Hung-Tsan | Spine | Orthopaedic

Dr HT Chow is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in spine surgery (spine doctor).

Dr HT Chow believes accurate diagnosis is the key to successful treatment of spine problems, and personally performs diagnostic injections to identify the source of any pain.

He performs a wide variety of spine procedures for neck and back and Sacro-Iliac (SI) joint problems, including ‘slipped discs’, spinal stenosis, and adult scoliosis, and is fortunate to have access to newly released equipment and implants. He performs: epidural injections; radiofrequency neurotomies and advanced procedures for pain; minimally invasive decompressive surgery; cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacement; minimally invasive anterior lumbar spine fusions; spinal dynamic stabilisation; and spinal osteotomy for deformity correction;  and uses computer navigation and intra-operative neural monitoring where appropriate.

Graduating from the University of Hong Kong in 1996, Dr Chow did his orthopaedic residency training at North District Hospital, Hong Kong, and fellowship training in spine surgery centres in the USA. He focused on spine surgery at North District Hospital from 2005 to 2010, before joining Asia Medical Specialists as a dedicated spine surgeon.

Dr Chow is a trainer for the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Currently, he is the Secretary General of the Hong Kong Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery Society and the Vice President of Spine Chapter, Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Chow is based in Central, Hong Kong, and is also a visiting consultant at Raffles Hospital Beijing, Shanghai United Family Hospital, and Shanghai United Family Pudong Hospital.
