About NG Kin-Wah, Bobby
Dr Bobby Ng is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in children’s orthopaedic and scoliosis.
Dr Ng has extensive experience in the non-surgical and surgical treatment of juvenile and adolescent scoliosis by anterior and posterior approaches. Navigation guided spinal instrumentation, spinal osteotomy and outcome studies on scoliosis patients are his great interests. He performs innovative treatments for Perthes’ disease; club foot; limb deformity correction; and limb lengthening.
Dr Ng received his medical degree from the University of Bristol, UK in 1984, and did orthopaedic residency training in the UK. In 1995, he returned to HK and joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and in 2005 was appointed Chief of the Orthopaedic Service. He joined Asia Medical Specialists as a children’s orthopaedic specialist in 2020.
Dr Ng is the author or co-author of about one hundred peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and holds a patent for a new device of his invention for treating Perthes’ disease (of the hip).
Dr Ng was the President of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (2019– 2021) and a past president of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association. He is also a member of Scoliosis Research Society.
Dr Ng is based in Central Hong Kong.
