About Dr Kelvin TAM | Orthopaedic | Shoulder and Knee 

Dr Kelvin Tam is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in shoulder and knee problems.

He believes in accurate diagnosis, patient education and aggressive non-operative treatment. He performs both minimally-invasive arthroscopic and conventional open techniques whenever clinically appropriate.

He performs shoulder injections for pain; shoulder arthroscopy; shoulder stabilisation; semi, total & reverse shoulder arthroplasty; rotator cuff repair; SLAP repair; subacromial decompression; acromioplasty; acromioclavicular joint reconstruction; frozen shoulder release; clavicle fracture surgery; proximal humerus fracture surgery; and other shoulder surgeries. As for knee-related surgeries, he performs total knee replacements, Meniscectomy and ACL surgery. 

After receiving his medical degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006, Dr Tam completed his orthopaedic residency training at Tuen Mun Hospital, Hong Kong. During his fellowship training in shoulder surgery, he also received training in many countries, such as Calgary, Canada; Nottingham, England; Hokkaido, Japan; Lyon, France; and Beijing, China. He joined Asia Medical Specialists as a dedicated shoulder and knee surgeon in 2017.

Dr Tam was the Vice President of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association (2008-2020); Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor (Department of Orthopaedics) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr Tam is based in Central Hong Kong and is also a visiting consultant at Shanghai United Family Hospital.
