Kin-Yin, Anna CHAN

Dr Chan is a cardiologist interested in various cardiovascular diseases and provides holistic and personalized care to patients with various cardiac conditions.

She believed that heart treatment is not solely treating the heart itself but the whole person, which involves providing effective pharmacological treatments and interventions, enhancing lifestyle modification and providing psychological support.

An accurate specialist assessment is the cornerstone for subsequent appropriate and successful treatment; Dr Chan’s main interests are in performing and interpreting cardiac imaging tests, particularly echocardiogram, cardiac computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance specific to the patient’s circumstances and indications.

Moreover, she is competent in cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention via radial approach for the treatment of symptomatic angina and acute coronary syndromes; pacemaker implantation for treatment of heart block and slow heartbeats; and cardioverter defibrillator for treatment of dangerous heart rhythms, percutaneous septal defect closure and PFO closure for heart defects.

Dr Chan graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1995 and completed her cardiology and internal medicine training at Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong from 1996 to 2003. She further honed her skills through a clinical and research fellowship in advanced cardiovascular magnetic imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA, in 2003. She was appointed as Associate Consultant in Cardiology and Director of Echocardiogram Unit in 2008 at Prince of Wales Hospital. She joined the private sector in 2020.
