About Professor Clive Cockram
Professor Clive Cockram is a Specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism with a special interest in Diabetes.
Professor COCKRAM received his medical degree from St Thomas’ Hospital, London, in 1973, and his MD in 1988. He was Lecturer in Medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, and joined the Academic Department of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1985, and was appointed Professor in 1996. Professor COCKRAM was the Head of Endocrinology and Diabetes Division until the SARS outbreak in 2003, following which he took charge of the Infectious Diseases Division. He remains Emeritus Professor and is a Clinical Consultant of the Clinical Skills Learning Centre at the University. He joined Asia Medical Specialists in 2008.
Professor COCKRAM was Vice-President of International Diabetes Federation (IDF) (2000-2006), Chair of the IDF Education Foundation (1997-2006) and Chair of the IDF Western Pacific Region (1997-2000). He served as a technical advisor in diabetes for the World Health Organisation on various occasions between 1991 to 2008.
He is the author or co-author of more than 400 papers, articles and book chapters, including co-editing the current edition of the Textbook of Diabetes.
Professor Cockram is based in Hong Kong.
